I'm flying! [ she is so, so happy about this. it's a huge contrast to how she was just two days ago.
they float a little higher, circling around the room. ] I found my Legion flight ring in bed with me this morning. I expect there's going to be a catch eventually, but until then... Gods, I've missed this.
[ He has no idea what that is, but he's not complaining. She's so happy and he's not about to complain about the change in mood. Hes comfortable enough with flying that he isn't frightened, and he has enough trust in her to not cling like it's life or death. ]

Well, whatever it was that did it, [ carefully, she sets them back on solid ground, though she's slow about letting go of him. ] I'm glad it did. It's been over a year since I've been able to fly.
[ she just--takes half a step back and sits cross-legged. mid-air. plants an elbow on her knee, rests her chin in her palm, and raises an eyebrow at him. ]
[ she rolls her eyes. then... pauses. clearly thinking. ]
You know, it would probably easier if we figured out how much force is needed to break one of my bones and just calculated the fastest I can safely land.
It varies from bone to bone. It takes about 4,000 newtons of force to break the typical human femur. It's safer to err on the side of caution than to assume you're any more durable than the average human.
And ankles aren't as durable as femurs. [ there's a long bit of silence where kara stares off into the distance, mouthing words to herself as she does some calculations. ] My best bet is probably going to be just stopping before I hit the ground.
[hmmm... she takes a look around. eyes how high the ceiling is. ]
