His bionic arm. Damian had his arm cut off by a supervillain at his previous game. A replacement was eventually built by Tony Stark.

Neurological implant. This neurological implant is largely non-functioning within the realm of the game. The hardware is still in his head and will interface with his arm, but he'll be able to browse the internet and type messages on OurPowers with it. Should he be hit with an EMP or something of the sort, the implant will stop working and Damian will no longer be able to use his arm.

One dose of 5-U-93-R. This is what the humans of Injustice use to fight on the level of heroes. Additional information. I don't intend for him to use this but when the time comes, I'd like to pitch a player plot where he tries to recreate it to disasterous effect.

Powers —

Skills: - Multilingual. Damian speaks many earth languages and a few alien ones. He's a quick study.
- Expert in most forms of Martial Arts, weapons, and Hand to Hand combat
- Genius level IQ. He's Batman's biological son who has been genetically enhanced to be the very best.
- Talented painter. A hobby.
- Medical knowledge. Damian's used to being (and needing) a field medic. He's competent enough to operate on a person.
- Programmer & Hacker. He's learned a thing or two about getting into a network over the years.
- Engineer. Damian has proficiency in building and repairing vehicles.

All of this is dumbed down to what's reasonable for a human to do. Damian may be a Bat, but he's not a detective and has been used more as a bludgeoning tool than a lockpick when it comes to solving problems.

Superpowers:

  • BLUE GOD POWERS. Damian's rage sets him on fire. This power isn't exceptionally powerful or potent. The best he can do is channel it into a fist - it's more of a hindrance than a benefit, he usually ends up catching himself on fire.

He also possesses an empathy bond that will activate should he come into contact with someone else who was given this blessing. This power may expand out in the future.

  • A SPARK OF MAGIC. attribute will manifest in the ability for Damian to learn magic. I'd like to make this a CR focused ability - if Damian has deep CR with your character, he'll automatically be granted a spell based upon the relationship. This power will be quite limited in scope and so no power will be particularly grand. At best, he might be able to teleport directly to that person, conjure a small rainstorm, etc. Small things meant to solidify the connection rather than anything that could change the flow of battle.

It will also focus heavily on cross-canon CR. Meaning that he will not gain any abilities from anyone he's bonded with in canon or from the extended DC Universe, only from other universes.
be limited transformation based upon how he feels like a poor imitation of his father. What this means is he can summon a pair of bat wings.

As his opinion of himself changes, this might revert to a pair of drab Robin wings for when he's feeling lost, or a set of enormous raven wings for when he feels particularly secure as Nightwing.

  • LAZARUS BLOOD. Damian will find that when he bleeds, he bleeds green, glowing lazarus water. Damian's blood will also possess the healing benefits of a pit - and those same drastic side-effects. The blood cannot heal internal injuries as it has to be applied directly onto the injury. Blood for blood, the cost of his family's magic. Your mind in exchange for a life long-lived.

The nearer to death you are when you're exposed to his blood, the more likely it is that you'll succumb to a form of Pit Madness. This effect can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Anyone who takes on this effect will be disoriented, impulsive, and prone to sudden outbursts of aggression.

  • Limitations: A few enhancements or not, Damian's just human. He's killable. He's frequently beaten down because he's the weakest person on any team he's on.
    Personality —
Please EITHER (1) Summarize your character's personality — including motivations, behaviors, and psychology — in 300-600 words OR (2) Respond to the questions below.

  • What were your character's most formative experiences?:

  • THE LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS. Damian was born and raised under the tutelege of the League of Shadows. He was kept secret from his father and hidden in the shadow of his mother. Most of his young life was spent being trained into being an emotionless killing machine and this, in no uncertain terms, royally fucked him up.

THE DESTRUCTION OF METROPOLIS & KILLING DICK GRAYSON. Damian's life was thrown off its intended trajectory the very moment that Metropolis was destroyed. His tenuous bond with his father snapped upon seeing his father grieving more for the dead clown than all the friends they had lost that day. Dmian becomes enraged at batman’s refusal to admit that not all criminals are worth saving. Deciding that Superman is correct, Arkham does not work and needs to be destroyed, Damian betrays his father to join the side he believes is right.

After a fight breaks out, Damian and his older brother, Dick Grayson, get into an argument. Expecting him to catch it, Dick is distracted and does not react in time, leading to the weapon striking him in the temple. Whether he died to that or the rock he fell on doesn't matter. Damian had been the weapon which killed his brother. And Bruce never forgave him for that. Damian never really forgave himself either.

SUPERMAN TAKING HIM IN.BECOMING NIGHTWING. As a child, Damian stole his dead brother's uniform from their father's hideout. This was so Bruce couldn't lament over Dick's uncessary loss the same way he did with Jason, or Tim... but he wasn't much better. Damian kept it locked away in his room, letting it be his deepest shame. Damian was at his lowest point and was throwing himself into every fight hoping not to walk out of it - and one night he very nearly didn't. He was saved by his older brother from beyond the grave, and Dick entrusted the moniker of Nightwing to him.

This could have been a turning point for him.

Unfortunately, it ended up being a spring and a deeper fall into darkness. Alfred Pennyworth, Damian's only confidante outside of the Regime, was murdered in cold blood and left for Damian to find. This drove Damian completely over the edge and had him resolute in the idea that murder is the only correct way to deal with these unreprentant murderers. This pushed Damian into using something he swore he never would - A Lazarus Pit - and brought him face to face with how far his father was willing to tease a forgiveness he'd never give.

MEETING KARA ZOR-EL. When Damian meets Kara, he's just had his shit kicked in. He's angry and unmoored and now, primed for being controlled after all of his formative years were spent as the right hand man of a tyrant he considered his father, he falls into the hands of the League of Assassins again. Damian is told their plans and balks every step of the wy, showing for the first time in a long time that he is more moral than his father and this is his line in the sand. Damian and Kara bond over wanting to make the world a better place. She became his very first friend outside of the Regime. She helped him break away from the League and remember that he isn't a monster.

And Damian, in repayment for all her kindness, begins to lie to her. He obsfucates the truth just enough to get her on their side without question. Black Adam tells him that this is for the greater good, that she can be used to free Clark and they can return to the idllyic world they were building - and he silently says nothing.

When Kara finds the depths of his deception, she lashes out at the Regime members. Damian makes a half-hearted attempt to calm her down and she spits that his father was right to lock him up, leading the two of them to come to violent blows. She wipes the floor with him and leaves, and this is when the confluence takes him.

ARRIVAL IN MEADOWLARK. Outside the realm of canon, the other single most important experience Damian has had has been his time in New Amsterdam. Damian was thrown into a world where his brothers are alive, no one knows his sins, and he's suddenly without power or purpose.

Damian immediately began to fuck this up. His anger is now directionless and his paranoia is raging. It's all made that much worse when his brother steals a dog to try to play therapy for him... and kickstarts a chain of events that piss off one of the most powerful people in the City, which leads to his right arm being sawed right off. Despite it all, for the first time in his life, Damian ends up bonding fiercely to a number of other people. Markus, Kara Zor-El, Kate Bishop, Stephen Strange, Fitz, these new AU versions of his long dead siblings, and more. He finds a frenemy in Clarke Griffin, and their constant clashes often end up undermining his plans as she quickly discerned what buttons to push. Damian began to actually work on himself, fighting to get hold of his temper so he can finally stop working from the shadow and become a true leader.

  • What values, morals, and/or philosophies does your character live by, and how are those beliefs demonstrated? What happens when they have to compromise what they believe in?

  • Damian believes in heroism. Which is a terribly vague way of saying that though he doesn't believe in himself, nor does he think he's much of a good person, he believes in the good he's capable of doing when he puts on a mask and takes to the streets.

When push comes to shove, Damian will lay his own life on the line to protect other people. The one thing Damian will not do is harm an innocent life. He came too close to doing that again once already, and it scared him. When faced with the truth of the Regime in the future, Damian betrays Clark and begins to work to undo everything they did. The right thing, the protection of the helpless, supercedes everything else for him... but it should be noted that his idea of who is helpless and who is an aggressor is horribly skewed by how he grew up. His morality is greyscale with contrasting shades of light and dark.

Given how he was raised - a weapon, a tool, anything but a person - he struggles to relate to other people, giving the firm impression he does not care. He's frequently arrogant and condescending even when he doesn't mean to be. He doesn't care if people like him, though, he cares that they're not dead.

  • What is your character afraid of? How does avoiding or preventing these fears influence their actions and decisions?

  • The Regime is built around fear and that's why he drinks so deeply of its koolaid. The all too real fear of the people he loves dying to the hands of some demented madman absolutely haunts him and drives him to reckless and cruel behavior. Damian also fears being the most powerless person in the room. And above all else, he fears his father. He fears becoming him far more than he fears fighting him, as Bruce's blows now mean little to him.

  • What goals does your character have right now? What do they want, and how do they go about getting it?

  • He doesn't know. To change, maybe. To figure out who he is outside of Superman's Bootlicker and Batman's bastard son.

At his current canonpoint, Damian will be coming in with fuzzy memories of Meadowlark and fresh memories of being beaten up by a girl he'd just seconds before considered a dear friend - who he'd lied to for years. She'd just found out his deception and her last words to him were that maybe his father had a point, that Damian was evil, and this shakesh im to his absolute core.

What Damian knows is he needs to change. He's still mostly certain the Regime is right... right? They were doing good. He had statistics to prove it. But Kara's judgement doesn't sit well with him. He wants to be better than his father, but hadn't he just done to Kara exactly what he hated his father did?

    Gameplay —
Areas of Interest / Brainstorming: Damian's going to join up with the Guardian Alliance almost immediately. He's been largely conditioned to believe that superheroes are the right thing.

He'll also start to learn magic. This is partly because Stephen Strange has been a huge influence and... partly because the only thing that can defeat Superman is magic. Damian won't admit it to himself. But doubt is something Clark has historically never liked, and he feels it growing inside of him. And the fact that he's somewhat afraid of Clark, and has positive experiences to contrast against how he and Clark discuss things, makes him uneasy.
